Living in rural parts of our country, whether in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons, the flatlands of Lincolnshire or the picturesque villages around Cornwall’s coast has its unique opportunities and challenges. Many in politics do not understand what living rurally means and how our way of life is very different to those who dwell in urbanised areas and major metropolitan cities.
Alongside being the Senedd Member for Brecon and Radnorshire I am also Shadow Minister for Mid Wales. Which is he most rurally populated part of Wales that straddles North, South, West Wales and the West of England. So I understand fully well, growing up and always living rurally what has given me the ability to know what our rural communities want and need.
As a rural Senedd Member I will campaign for improvements to rural infrastructure such as internet, roads and business opportunities. I will also fight to protect our way of life, the two are not mutually exclusive, we can develop and protect what makes us great, and I intend to use my position to do just that.
